Welcome to Canada Winter Wonderland (In Person)
The Welcome to Canada Winter Wonderland session, offered in person, is open to all new international students starting their first DC program in January 2025. With a variety of fun-filled activities, this session promises to be an unforgettable celebration of community and Canadian culture, welcoming you to your new home at DC.

Home@DC International Student Orientation (Online)
In addition to the in-person welcome session, new international students are required to complete the Winter 2025 - Home@DC International Student Orientation (online orientation modules) before the first day of school. Login to your DC Connect and get started! Those who complete all online orientation modules by January 5, 2025 will be automatically entered into a draw for one prize of $1,000 (CDN) to be used toward a future semester’s tuition fees at DC.

Monthly Immigration Workshop: Study Permit and Work Authorization (Online)
At this workshop, we will guide you through the process of applying for your initial study permit from outside Canada. We will provide clarity on where and how you can obtain your study permit and discuss the work eligibility associated with it. Join us to get a better understanding of the steps and options available for international students like you.

International Student Mentorship Program (ISMP)
Attention current DC students! The International Student Mentorship Program (ISMP) is now accepting applications for Mentors and Mentees for the Winter 2025 semester.
The program is designed to help first-semester international students in their journey at Durham College and life in Canada. Mentors and mentees are asked to meet (physically, virtually, email, etc.) at least 3 times in the Winter semester (January to April).

Living a Healthy Lifestyle – Stay Safe in Winter!
Each winter in Ontario, weather conditions such as heavy snow, freezing rain and/or ice pellets can make basic travel difficult. If you are travelling to or from campus, allow for plenty of time and travel with due caution and care. Refer to Safety on Campus | Durham College for tips on travelling around campus during winter. If operational changes are implemented due to inclement weather, DC will issue information as soon as possible using various channels.
